Communication Relay Hub

This is an important basebuilding module for players to build and protect. During raid battles, players will use this module to decode and upload encrypted data found in special drivers. This is a crucial way to advance the story and build a communication network with people outside the city, with the help of the Radio Operator NPC.

Radiators!

We have been working on some new basebuilding furniture. It is all about Radiators this month.

As you know, Datura City is going through a harsh winter. Maintaining body temperature is an important part of the gameplay. To retain body heat, proper clothing, food, and preparation matter when traveling away from base. While in base, special furniture can be crafted to keep your base warm. Install Radiators to generate heat using renewable or non-renewable electricity.

We have finished LV1 and LV2 radiator concepts. Their modeling is in progress.  LV3 radiator concept is a work in progress. Should be able to show it next month.

Mack Carter - The Mechanic

Meet our new NPC. He owns the auto repair shop. You will be able to barter with him to buy and sell basic raw materials, repair kits, and other items.

He is the first of many shopkeepers. Different shopkeeper NPCs will have different categories of items to buy and sell.

Propaganda vs Vandalism

Cults, propaganda, and corporate greed are some of the core themes of our world. We want to showcase that through environmental storytelling. We are in the process of finding the right style that fits our world. These are all WIP art. Once we have built a good library of these artworks, we will decide how to polish and distribute them in the world.

That concludes this month's devlog. Thank you for reading. See you on the next devlog!

Devlog #3 [June 3rd, 2026]
3 months ago – Wed, Jun 03, 2026 at 09:21:52 AM

Hello Daturans, welcome to devlog #3!

In this devlog, we will showcase a new weapon, environmental storytelling posters, basebuilding pieces, equipment, enemies, and level design. Please keep in mind that everything we are about to show is "Work In Progress" and may change in the future.

Weapon - Shovel Axe

Our new weapon Shovel Axe. A regular shovel modified with everyday items converted into a devastating heavy weapon. High physical damage with high stamina cost. Perfect weapon for frontliners. This is the LV2 variant. LV1 variant is just the shovel. There will be other variants based on higher levels.

Basebuilding Module

Here are some new LV1 basebuilding modules. There will be many different types of modules to customize your base as you want.

Aside from the regular Floor-Ceiling module, there will be a Hole-type Floor-Ceiling module, which will allow you to place a ladder and other modules in the middle.

The Ramp-type modules allow you to give a distinct look to your base. This is a 60° Ramp module. 30° and 45° Ramp modules will also be available.

Level Design

We have shown some areas of the Hospital during the Kickstarter. Here are some new areas of the hospital. If you are a fan of the TV show House, some layouts and designs might seem familiar when you explore the building. The hospital is also the starting point of the game and the default spawn point after death if there is no base bed set as a spawn point.

As you know, there will be a lot of apartment buildings and all of their interior will be explorable. We are currently working on an apartment building that has a bank on the first floor and a vault in the basement that connects directly to the sewers. We will showcase the bank and the vault in the future. Here are some WIP shots of some apartments in that building.

Apartment 3 - Bedroom

Here we have a Kitchen for a classic fine dining restaurant. It is located on the first floor of the Luxury Apartment building. The door leads directly to the restaurant.

Concept Art

This month, our artists made some new enemies, equipment, and environmental storytelling poster designs.

First, we have some new enemy designs. The Organization has its own PMC. After the outbreak, they have been deployed in Datura City. Some of the soldiers have also turned into crics due to prolonged exposure. There will be both regular and squad leader variants of the soldiers, as well as cric variants. More details about them will be revealed in the future.

Take a look at the Radio Computer. This is a versatile tool that will be used for accessing inventory, communication, decrypting drives, and many other things. Think of Pip-Boy.

Environmental Storytelling

For environmental storytelling, one of the main tools we are utilizing is posters and banners. They can be found all over the map and will reveal or hint at story and character details. Environmental storytelling is very important to us, so expect a lot of details scattered around the map that reveal events of the past and future.

Devlog #2 [April 29th, 2026]
4 months ago – Wed, Apr 29, 2026 at 02:00:11 AM

Hello Daturans, welcome to devlog #2!

Today I will showcase a new weapon, new basebuilding modules, WIP level designs, a new boss concept art, and some WIP concept arts.

Weapon - Ice Axe

Our new weapon Ice Axe. This is the LV2 variant. A climbing pickaxe modified with a battery to provide electric damage. The battery is "reloadable". Over time, the battery will run out like ammo, and a new battery will need to be reloaded to deliver electric damage.

Basebuilding Module

We started with designing and modeling LV2 basebuilding modules, which can be seen in the trailer. Now we are preparing LV1 basebuilding modules. This is a Triangle Wall Type 1 and a Pillar. More modules of LV1 will be revealed in future devlogs.

The material theme of the LV2 modules is metal+wood. LV1 is just wood. LV3 and beyond will have other themes.

Enemy - Sensory Glow

Since our game uses multiple senses to detect players, it is important that players can easily recognize from a distance, even in the dark, what enemy type they are facing. So we decided to make their sensory body part glow. This is a work-in-progress method. We will explore more solutions to combine with it in the future.

Level Design

We are currently working on multiple new areas, including some endgame areas. In the images, the assets you are seeing are placeholders. We will modify them later to fit our game's theme.

Underground Cathedral - Crypt
Underground Cathedral - Crypt

The Underground Cathedral area is part of the endgame content. This is a very old cathedral that got buried deep underground as the city grew over hundreds of years.

Underground Lab
Underground Lab
Underground Lab

The Organization built the Underground Lab right on top of the Underground Cathedral. This area is the source of the outbreak. Zombified versions of the Organization's PMC soldiers can be found here, amongst other enemies.

Hospital - Basement 2

There are two basement areas in the Hospital. The hospital administration hid many shady activities in the basements with the help of the Organization.

Subway - Serial Killer Hideout

This is a secret location in the Subway area. A quest will be tied to this location.

Concept Art

The Subway area boss. We showcased the WIP version last month.

WIP design of the Organization's PMC soldiers. Both normal and zombified variations can be found as enemies. We plan to do more enemy design based on the Organization.

We have finally sent out the survey this month. Extremely sorry for such a long delay!
We have also set up a BackerKit shop. If you are having difficulty purchasing or your order was canceled due to issues with the Kickstarter payment system, you can place an order at the BackerKit pre-order shop.

That's all for this month's devlog. Thank you for reading. See you on the next devlog!

Devlog #1 [March 31st, 2026]
5 months ago – Tue, Mar 31, 2026 at 03:42:12 AM

Hello everyone, welcome to our first devlog. It's been more than a month since the conclusion of our Kickstarter campaign. We want to share with you what we have been working on.

First of all, about the backer survey. Apologies for the delay. Please allow us a bit more time to set up the survey. As this is our first Kickstarter campaign, we are still navigating the process. Once we are ready, we will start sending the survey.

Next, let us show you what we have been working on. Please note that these designs are all works in progress and can change in the future.

Our concept art team has been making cool new enemies and basebuilding concepts. Right now, we are working on two new bosses. One for the Shopping Mall area and one for the Subway area.

Subway Area Boss

The Subway area's boss is a blind entity. It uses Noise generated by the player to detect. It can also use the siren on its head for echolocation to pinpoint the player's position. It uses sonic attack to disorient and chainsaw and drill-like weapons to damage the player. Any tactics that can disable electronics will help fight this boss.

Subway Area Boss [WIP Design]

Shopping Mall Area Boss

Shopping Mall is another overground major landmark area similar to the Hospital and the Police Station. The boss in this area can only use Sight and Smell signals generated by players to detect. Jibaro and Silent Hill Nurse are huge inspirations for the design.

Shopping Mall Area Boss [WIP Design]

Basebuilding

We have already shown models of the main basebuilding pieces. Those were LV2 variants of the models. Right now, we are working on LV1 variants. LV2 has the metal theme, LV1 will have the wood theme. We plan to add more variants in the future.

Optimization

As a project gets bigger, optimization can become messier and harder. We want to focus on optimization early, set up a standard within the team. The Level Design and Programming team has been busy with that. Once they resume their gameplay and level design work, we will be able to show new areas and gameplay in the next devlog.

Thank you for reading our very first, albeit short devlog. I will try to share more content in the next devlog. Thank you again for your support! See you on the next devlog!
